Mundane Monday

To find and listen music i have been listening
while writing this blog entry, surf to www.last.fm
and search for station called "music like misty edwards".
Sorry i have been flooding this blog with quotes,
but sometimes i just find that they have already phrased
(not sure if that is english haha) my thoughts better
than i ever could and sometimes i just find them amusing,
disagreeable or thought raising... This one i found from
my friend's quotes wall on facebook, so thanks Cal,
i really liked this one. Sometimes danger is the most attractive
quality of a man, especially if he is dangerous but trusted to be good.

"All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dream with open eyes, to make it possible."
- T.E. Lawrence, Seven Pillars of Wisdom

Quoting my brother "
But as Mr Beaver so rightly says, "...course he isn't safe. But he is good."
(read more from here )

Dreaming, potential of adventures, a dash of danger int the air, and trusting how God is good.
I guess this not so mundane monday after all.

Amazing.

Since last blog entrance things have been
suddenly moving fast forward and i am just
sitting here and wondering what actually is happening.
Well, along everything else, God intervened
and made all things new aka he took my dreams
and plans, shook them around and organised
them in whole different way which i hadn't
even dreamt of.
I know it doesn't make much sense, i have no
idea what is going on, but the bottom line
is that God is good, and
next, i'm going to "Home".
After a long, almost unbearable season of waiting,
i have jumped, i'm on the air and
looking forward to land on Father's arms.

Why?

...God's answer to Job's archetypal cry of "Why?" is simply, "Look at Me" (see Job 38-41). "My ears have heard of you but now my eyes have seen you," cries Job in awe, as if his sufferings have simply evaporated (42:5). The book of Job is threrefore both the most frustrating and enlightening treatment of unanswered prayer in the Bible, because God's solution to so much misery is merely and ultimately to reveal His greatness.

- Pete Greig, God on mute, p.76-77

I rest my case.

Babel.

Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow.
- Oliver Wendell Holmes

When you go to a country, you must learn how to say two things: how to ask for food, and to tell a woman that you love her. Of these the second is more important, for if you tell a woman you love her she will certainly feed you.
- Louis L'Amour

Any time you think some other language is strange, remember that yours is just as strange, you're just used to it.
- Linguistic Mystic

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
- Abraham Lincoln

Language is an anonymous, collective and unconscious art; the result of the creativity of thousands of generations.
- Edward Sapir

Own only what you can carry with you; know language, know countries, know people. Let your memory be your travel bag.
- Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.

They spell it Vinci and pronounce it 'Vinchy': foreigners always spell better than they pronounce.
