Pretty beings.

I am slightly sad that my dream dress was sold out before I was able to get it. Am I allowed to be sad for such a vain reason when there are people starving? Are we allowed to ask for provision in things like this? I wanted to get it to wear in wedding day of my good friends, and it looked like a "perfect match" for the occasion. Jesus said that we are not to worry about what to eat and what to wear, for God provides for us, He dresses up the flowers of fields and Jesus says that even King Solomon in all his glory wasn't as well dressed. Yet sometimes I struggle to trust God's fashion sense. Even though there have been times when He has totally provided. I think i'd just really like to look nice for the wedding and it's part of my mindset to respect my fellow people by trying to look pleasant. It's probably something really girly, desire to be pretty. Now I'm fallin a sleep mid-thought...continuesss..zzzzzzzzzzzZZ.

Beings.

I think in summer, my favorite time of the day is early morning, when sun is already up but when the world is just waking up, when it's not that hot yet and there is that lingering tension between sleep and business in the air.
A friend of mine tweeted today "I love my life even if it is a little hectic at the moment. The faster the pace, the bigger the buzz. " and I agree a lot with this. But it also lead me into thinking about being. I think sometimes my primary calling is to be, and to be the things I carry within my being. It's like higher quantum physics, but sometimes I just know that I am more that I am in myself, I am an image of much Greater Being, the great I AM and I carry a both, feeble and a resounding, a memory and a promise of the Kingdom come. It's like we'd all be this option, a token of something greater and still all good as we are.

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”-John 10:28-30

"It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

When the invisible story of One King,
a band of brothers, the lost boys,
children of the revolution
and a warrior princess unfolds it sounds
like mud and looks like cake
and there is nothing fake.

This is the soundtrack of my life these days,
fairly unique remix of a song of the saints,
hum and drum of cloud of witnesses.

"...in the silence of the night
it was solitude
that spoke to my skin
and it was all monochrome before the glorious dawn..."

Nothing heals one better than good company,
it is closeness that gives energy and restores.
Sometimes catch myself searching for a lost thought
that slipped away
when i got distracted by a flutter of butterfly effect

It kills my ego that you just tolerate if even so, if even so.
But hey it's okay and I better let you go.

Because if i'm betting against you i'd rather loose.

(And I think I'm in love, always and forever.)

INFP - The Idealists

The meaning-seeking and unconventional type. They are especially attuned to making sure their beliefs and actions are congruent. They often develop a passion for the arts or unusual forms of self-expression.

They enjoy work that are aligned to their deeply felt values and tend to strongly dislike the more practical and mundane forms of tasks. They can enjoy working alone for long periods of time and are happiest when they can immerse themselves in personally meaningful projects.

[You are not alone]

The Great commission.

"He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. ... Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it."
Mark. 16:15&20

What is commission anyway? Com - mission? Let Dictionary explain:

com- (also co-, col-, con-, or cor-)
prefix
with; together; jointly; altogether

• a strongly felt aim, ambition, or calling : his main mission in life has been to cut unemployment.
• an expedition into space.

ORIGIN mid 16th cent. (denoting the sending of the Holy Spirit into the world): from Latin missio(n-), from mittere ‘send.’

Life is a story and a journey.
So the question is not why to go but why to stay.
Travel into today and this present.

Are you with me?

[250th]

I'd love to blog more about movies, but don't get to see many new ones,
but to my joy many friend's of my here have great dvd collections.
I enjoy stories and cinematography and cheap 2hr get away.
Recently I have also asked God to speak to me more and more
through these stories. Avatar, Iron man 2, The Last song
and Clash of the Titans are on my to see list.

To simplify, often movies provide us a solution to life that is either
sex+romance or violence. It's kind of strange as neither of them
really work in real life to solve anything.

I read this today from the letter for Galatians and I think it addresses
very well to us too.

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious:
sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy,
fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions,
factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law.
Gal. 5:19-23

Hmm.

Return of the Faith

"A secular world without religion would be a dreary place", writes Perttu Häkkinen, columnist of Helsingin Sanomat. After his column from two weeks ago, in which he critiqued some inequitys of the Papal institution Häkkinen got some hotheaded feedback from reader's that accused him a bitter protestan and anti-faith. "A world without mystery, and sounds like a dreary place, so I have not felt the need to get rid of religions.", he writes and goes on to explaining the situation of his current home country, the Netherlands, which has been claimed one of the most secular western countries.
My favorite part of his column is the end, which goes like this:

"Religion and religiosity are therefore are not going anywhere from here, they have just transformed, and the post-secular Holland must now adjust to their long shot visit. Separation between the Church and the state did not mean the end of the celebration, but that the guests will be dividing to many different after partys.
After a long time there are prayer breaks and places at workplaces, and the Christians and Islamic fundamentalists shouting in the media. At the same time a quarter of one million
white Dutch are sitting in their living rooms chasing enlightenment.

The most pressing question of the post-secular era lies in how the secular and spiritual people really find a common language, of which both parties understand.

Because believe it or not, God has returned to Holland."

Translation my own,
read the original column in Finnish from here

[random musings]

I was thinking today about parenthood.
My mom and dad have had me when they were so young that today they have had me for more time than they haven't had me in their life. Thank you mama & papa, you are amazing! Raising up 4 kids and leading successful lives! ♥

Then I was thinking about nations. I'm living in my 4th country at the moment,
and sometimes I think that it's impossible to feel totally at home in any other
culture than one you grew up with. But then I go what I call my home country
and don't really fit in all that well so I guess just have to wait until heaven comes
here to feel completely home.

Just wanted to say Hello! to all dutch,
israeli and australians who might
possibly read this, thank you for all your hospitality,
part of me will always
be with you and longing to come live with you again.

I love to learn about cultures and it never
ceases to fascinate me how different
things form and shape us.
I recently read this article about how many multi-cultural
marriages end up in divorce, then I was thinking that many marriages in modern world end up in divorce anyway (why is that? individualism? expectations? who knows?)
and I think any marriage is multi-cultural anyway as each family has it's own culture.

Then I was thinking about "the lost boys", sunshine and beaches, compassionism, moomins, warrior hearts and celebrating sabbath, but more about those later.

Today's Moravian Daily Text

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake
of your steadfast love and your faithfulness. Psalm 115:1

Those who speak on their own seek their own glory; but the one who seeks
the glory of him who sent him is true, and there is nothing false in
him. John 7:18

Precious Lord, we come before you so often telling you what we need. We
forget that you know our needs and our desires before we ask. Enter our
hearts now that we may listen. Help us set aside our own desires of
glory and fame. As we empty ourselves to receive your words, we pray for
the courage to glorify your name and spread the good news of your
abiding love. Amen.
